Why Virtual adoption? This is a way you can have an animal , or group of animals in your life, but without the dander, cage cleaning, walks or the need to be tied to your house. There are many reasons people can't have pets. Maybe your lease forbids them, maybe your child is allergic. Here is your solution! You can Adopt a Cage for 6 months! You will be automatically debited from your PayPal every month. If you don't have paypal, just e-mail us and we will make other arrangements. You will receive monthy (or more often) pictures and updates on "Your" Cage! It is a way to "have an animal" without the stress! The cost to adopt each cage is what it costs to feed, house and maintain (vet bills, special equipment etc) each cage for a month. Of course, the best part is you are helping an animal that really needs your help!
The Rats
Our Boys
The Velveteen Cage
This was Michaelangelo, my Service Rat. He was a velveteen dumbo, about 2 yrs old in this picture.   His cage   in the "boys room" which is my bedroom.   Michaelangelo was sweet, gentle and extremely tollerant. When he wasn't working as my service animal he relaxed in his cage, and touching noses with his neighbors on either side. His brother and cagemate Fuzzy, passed away some time ago.   Michaelangelo passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2008. He will be greatly missed.
Our Girls
These are Peach and D.K.. They're Hairless Dumbos, Peach is a PEW (Pink Eyed White) and D.K. is black with one white hand and dark eyes. They were about 3 1/2 months old in this picture, but now are over a year old and still love to wrestle and play! They came to us as boys...but....now that they're older if you look more closely, they really are girls(with a little something extra!)So they are unique! They fit right in. Their cage is in between the kitchen and the family room so that they can be part of all the action in the house!'
They came from Joy Bailey and were socialized from birth to be used to human handling. They are good Education Rats" and go out on informational talks. Peach still has some very short white "peach fuzz" but D.K. only has fuzz on the sides of his face. Both have now passed on leaving 2 small holes in our hearts.
